Some Improvements, But Can Still Be Better. At Least the Velcro is Gone!, March 8, 2011

The Debris bag is probably the weakest point of the Pentair Legend pool cleaner. The bags are expensive and don’t last that long. Prior to this version (with the snaplock), the bag was closed with Velcro and was held upright with another piece of Velcro that attaches the top of the bag to the hose.

The good news is that the Velcro is gone!!! The Velcro at the bag opening was right in the path of the debris when you dumped the bag. In a couple of months, the Velcro would just stop holding together resulting the the debris just being pushed out the top of the bag.

I was really glad to see the the Velcro is gone, but I am very skeptical of the strength of the plastic snaplock. When opening it the first time, it came loose from the flimsy plastic pin hinges. Also the Velcro attaching the top of the bag to the hose is also gone, but replaced with a mini plastic spring loaded clamp. I am going to guess that when the bag is filled, the clamp will pull loose which will cause the cleaner to tilt to its side (that is what happened when the Velcro failed with previous bags.

This review is from: Pentair Kreepy Krauly 360002 Automatic Pool Cleaner Debris Bag with Snap Lock (Lawn & Patio)

Pentair Kreepy Krauly 360002 Automatic Pool Cleaner Debris Bag with Snap Lock My original Pentair Kreepy Krauly Debris Bag had fallen apart. The snap had fallen off and the top was starting to tear and leaves were leaking out.
I was so happy to find this part on Amazon and the price is reasonable enough that I may order a second one to have it as a spare. I have it installed and it is out there collecting debris like it should.

  3. This bag is definitely the weak point of this cleaner. At least buying a new one is only about $25. I go through about 4-6 a year using the cleaner constantly from late Sept-June 1st. Moderate size/volume of Oak leaves.
When the whole cleaner dies, I may try a robotic one.
