Question by SoCalBoy:
Is the Kreepy Krawley a good pool cleaner?
Our pool company says the Hayden Navigator is good, but it gets crummy reviews. Does anyone know about the Kreepy Krawley, or another other automatic pool cleaning “machine” you would recommend? I need one that also cleans steps. Thanks!
OOps… it’s spelled Kreepy Krauly.

yep, it’s as good if not better than most!!! I have the navigator and it doesnt get the stairs… I do believe the kreepy does!!!

We use the Kreepy Crawley. I call him “Critter”
Critter does a good job but it takes six to eight hours to get our whole 20′ X 40′ pool.
It gets the walls and floor but doesn’t do the stairs. I brush the stairs off before I run Critter.
We have had him for seven seasons now. I had to buy one replacement part for him. It was about $ 10 so Critter has been a low maintenance hard working cleaner.
When Critter goes to that big pool in the sky I will buy another.

I have one and it’s pretty good for debris but not other than that. It will pick up leaves, hair and the like. If you’re looking for something to clean your pool as in scrubbing it (ladder & steps) I’d check into something else.
Good luck.
WE HAD ONE YEARSS AGO AND IIT LOOKED LIKE A MANTA RAY OR SOMETHING AFTER AWHILE IT WOULD GET LIKE WEATHERED? THE RUBBER WOULD GET ALL CRACKED AND SUCH I DIDNT LIKE IT! I LIKE THE ONES WITH MULTI HOSES THAT BLOW EVERYTHING AROUND TO LET THE FILTER GET IT! IT DOESNT GIVE THE DIRT TIME TO SETTLE!
The Creepy Crawley works in conjuction with your filter,so is only as good as your fillter, the creepy crawley merley stirs up the water so all the volume is filltered, the better your fillter is and cleaned out regularley then the cleaner your pool
Hi,
The Kreepy Krauly is a good cleaner put not good in a pebble crete pool. The pebble surface will wear out the rubber base.
It will not clean the steps very well. It does clean the sides pretty good, but seems to loose something on the steps. It is the best pool cleaner that I have ever used
They are pretty good. They have a decent lif span but once the plastic parts start to wear, they’re done.
I replace the rubber foot pad, wings and the inground seal but otherwise, I just replace the whole cleaner. They are affordable and do a decent job. You have to brush the steps yourself, in most cases, but this is true with any cleaner.
I have been in the swimming pool service industry for many years and have seen them work in many different types of pools both in shape and pool surfaces.
