Tail on Pentair Legend Pool Cleaner is shooting water all over whenever it makes a turn.?

Question by :
Tail on Pentair Legend Pool Cleaner is shooting water all over whenever it makes a turn.?

I have a Pentair Legend Pool cleaner. The tail constantly whips out of the water whenever it makes a turn and shoots water everywhere. It didn’t used to do it so I know that something is not right. I’m tired of cleaning my windows :) Any ideas?

I am convinced pool cleaner tails are programmed to squirt water all over–especially at fully clothed people near the swimming pool LOL.

Seriously, this is a typical and expected action of the pool cleaner. The tail whipping up to the water line helps dislodge crud that collects there. If you have a scrubber attached to the tail, you also get a mild scouring action that will help keep the water-line tile cleaner.

If you recently had the unit serviced–especially if you had new tires installed–the cleaner may now be able to climb higher up the pool walls than before. This could explain a perceived change in “water squirting” frequency.

    Two things to try:

1)There should be adjustment screw near tail attatchment point that controls the strength of tail water jet

2)there is a tail weight available from polaris pool cleaner tyhat will also fit on legend
